The view from our apartment.
On Tuesday we had the craziest weather I’ve ever experienced, the visibility was zero, wind 42 m/s and freakishly cold. The slopes closed after lunch and they even had to evacuate some people who hadn’t made it down in time. Although it wasn’t the ideal weather conditions, it sure was an experience.

Val Thorens is a part of the Three Valleys ski area (that also includes Courchevel, Méribel and Les Menuires) which actually is the world’s largest ski area so there was a lot of slopes to discover.
Rosé lunch at Le Plan des Mains – 10/10.
This hot chocolate from the restaurant Chalet des 2 Lacs was, without a doubt, the best one I’ve ever tasted. The restaurant also had really good lunch and I think we ate there 3/6 days during the trip, so definitely a place worth a visit.

The food during the trip was amazing, I don’t think we had a single bad meal. This was at Alpen Art, risotto with pumpkin & cépes. The rest of the gang had a beef filet with mashed potatoes with truffle oil and mushroom which was, according to them, the best meal they had during the trip.
The last day we got amazing weather, it was really nice to just sit outside and enjoy the sun before heading back home. We had, unfortunately, quite bad weather during our stay but no can do – we had fun despite the weather.
Another favourite thing during the trip was our daily breakfast moments; we made coffee, eggs & porridge and just sat and talked about the upcoming day, listening to music and enjoying each other’s company. The ideal way to start a day. We had an amazing trip and I’m so lucky to have these people in my life. Thank you!
