One of the most common questions I’ve gotten lately is “What is a integrative nutrition health coach/what does one do?”
A Health Coach is a supportive mentor and wellness authority who works with people to help them feel their best and find a balance in life through food and lifestyle changes.
Health coaches focuses on nutrition, physical activity, relationships, career and spirituality. The relationship between food and lifestyle and how these two affect the health is the primary focus of an health coach. Areas that a health coach may help you with is lifestyle changes, weight management, food cravings, energy, stress management – just to name a few. It’s important to remember that a Health Coach does not diagnose or treat; rather, he/she guides and supports the development of and progress toward personal wellness goals.
The program I do has a holistic approach to health, which is really important for me because that is something I strongly believe in. Holistic health means that the physical, mental and emotional parts are all in balance with each other.
I’ve always been really passionated about health and wellbeing and people who know me knows I could go on and on about these things. I’m so so excited to finally start my studies at IIN and can’t wait to actually start to coach. That won’t happen in a while though but that’s good, I still have a lot to learn. Hugs! <3
